Virginia 2-year-old walking again after being shot in head

A Virginia 2-year-old who was shot in the head during a drive-by shooting in December is walking again.

Lavier Robinson was injured after shots were fired at his house. He was taken to a hospital and was released to his grandmother last week.

"People may look at it like, 'Oh he's not walking,'" his grandmother Harneatha Atkinson told WRIC. "To us, he's walking. It went from him not being to stand on his own, sit up on his own, to where he can sit up on his own now and take his steps now."

Lavier still has more surgeries along his road to recovery. His family is grateful for his progress.

"It's a miracle he's out," Atkinson told WRIC. "It was a long journey to get here. Once he gets the feeling back in his left hand, he'll be OK."

Ara D. McLaughlin, 19, and Randy O. Vaughan, 23, were arrested and charged with attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder in connection to the shooting, WRIC reported.
