According to WVIT-TV, Christopher Schayer shared a video Monday of a hungry bear nabbing one of the festive gourds from a doorstep in Canton, Connecticut.

The video of the unexpected moment quickly went viral after local news stations shared it on social media.
"A pumpkin thief is on the loose in Canton!" WFSB-TV wrote in a Facebook post Monday afternoon.
WVIT echoed the warning less than an hour later.
By Tuesday morning, the clip had racked up more than 460,000 views and nearly 10,000 shares.
