"I have abused my lungs quite a bit in the past, so breathing is a little more difficult these days and I have to be careful. I started smoking cedar bark, went from that to cigarettes to whatever. And that almost killed me. I don't smoke anymore ... take better care of myself," Nelson told KSAT.

Last month, Nelson announced 15 tour dates that will begin in early January, according to Jambase.com. The "Trigger" singer will begin with eight shows in California, one in Georgia and finish the round of concerts with six in Florida.

Nelson came off a tour in August because of a “breathing problem.” He also canceled his appearance at the Outlaw Music Festival in June due to illness. He also was forced to cancel several dates in 2018.
