NEW DETAILS: Larger Dayton Mall restaurant site awaits liquor permit

The opening of the Outback Steakhouse’s new location at the Dayton Mall is nearing as the restaurant chain is awaiting word on a liquor permit.

The opening of the new Dayton Mall restaurant at 2560 Miamisburg-Centerville Road in Miami Twp. is projected to occur the first half of November.

The new site will hold more customers and employees than the current Centerville location at Cross Pointe Center, where it has operated since March 1996, officials said.

The restaurant’s motion for a liquor permit is set to go before Miami Twp. trustees Tuesday night. The Cross Pointe location is expected to close before the opening of the new site, which will employ about 120 and increase its tables from the current 48 to 57, officials have said.

In August, Sears announced it would be closing its Dayton Mall retail store.
