New giant arts and craft store to open in Dayton area

An A.C. Moore Arts & Craft is opening a new store in Centerville.

The company has listed job openings for at least 10 positions at the store in the Cross Pointe Center at 251 E. Bell Road. Jobs include assistant general manager, logistics supervisor, custom framing specialist, activities specialist, associate and others.

The new store is taking the former space of Home 2 Home, which moved to a different location in the same shopping center.

A.C. Moore could not be reached for comment, but Centerville’s city planner Andrew Rodney said the renovation of the 19,560 square-foot store was valued at $200,000. The company has also submitted requests to add a loading dock.

“Cross Pointe Center continues to provide the Centerville community convenient access to a wide variety of goods, services, and dining options. A.C. Moore will be yet another strong retail addition to the current mix of businesses. We look forward to their success in the years to come,” Rodney said.

A.C. Moore employs more than 5,000 people across 140 stores. The company first expanded into Ohio with a store in Columbia Twp. near Cincinnati in June. At the time, the company announced that it planned to open 13 new locations, including six in Ohio.
