Wildfire Home & Gift

A new home decor, wall art and gifts business is coming to downtown Hamilton.

Wildfire Home & Gift was slated to debut Saturday at 226 High St., according to owner Sarah Dankhoff, of the village of Seven Mile.

“I aim to bring products into the shop that feel special, items you can’t find just anywhere,” Dankhoff said. “I get a lot of questions about the gifts carried. We are starting with jewelry, most made by local or U.S. artisans, inspirational goods like leather bound notebooks, and handmade prints, candles and locally-made bath bombs.”

Dankhoff, who originally is from Trenton, said she lived in Cincinnati for many years.

“If you would’ve told me a year ago that I was opening a store in Hamilton, first I would never believe that I would be opening a store, let alone in Hamilton,” she said. “When we decided to move back to Seven Mile, I met a Hamilton much different than the Hamilton I moved away from years ago. The longer we lived locally, the more we found ourselves coming to Hamilton to eat, drink, shop and play.”

By the time the decision was made to open a shop, Hamilton was “an easy decision,” she said.

“As far as this particular store front … it just felt right,” Dankoff said. “I know many businesses choose their location based off factors like traffic patterns and other data. For me, High Street feels magical.”

She said she was taking 4-month-old son Grayson for walks on High Street for coffee and pastries a few times a week before she started the journey to open the Wildfire Home & Gift.

“When a store front in my favorite color, green, was presented as an option right in the middle of all the action here in Hamilton, I just knew it was the right home for Wildfire,” she said. “I’m very excited to have such great Hamilton neighbors and cornerstone businesses around me.”

Hours will be 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday with plans to extend hours closer to the holidays. For more information, call 513-460-6346 or visit www.facebook.com/wildfirehamilton.
