New salon, spa owner: Downtown Miamisburg’s growth ‘attractive’

Modern Bliss owner plans to have full-service spa by start of 2021.

The amount of downtown Miamisburg businesses continues to increase with the recent opening of a new salon and spa.

Lindsi Stupp, who said she has been styling hair for 15 years, had worked in just a few other salons on a commission basis and had been renting her own booth for about two years before opening Modern Bliss Salon & Spa at 45 S. Main St. last weekend.

“I have always had the dream of one day owning my own salon,” Stupp said. “I got the call about a building in my home town was available, which was my dream location, and prayed about it with my husband and felt this was the perfect opportunity.”

Stupp said she plans to make Modern Bliss Salon & Spa a full-service spa by the start of 2021. It now offers all color and cut services, waxing, lash extensions, teeth whitening, special occasion hair and makeup and many more services to follow.

She said that she wanted to have her own salon from the moment she started hair school.

“I had my son in high school and thought most times that my dream would never come,” she said. “I mean we were barely making ends meet some weeks but as time went on my clientele built, I met my husband, we got married and started this chapter of life that still amazes me.”

Stupp said that it wasn’t until watching her husband, Tyler, start his own business — JT Lawn N’ Mulch — in downtown Miamisburg nearly seven years ago that she realized that owning her own was closer than she thought possible.

“I had this vision of where and what I wanted for my salon and knew that with faith, prayer and patience I would build this dream,” she said. “The love and support from my husband, family and clients is all I needed, truly. Without then, none of this would be possible.”

The completely renovated 700-square-foot space can hold three full-time or four part-time stylists and has room for an aesthetician.

Stupp said she chose to locate Modern Bliss Salon & Spa in the city because she loves its downtown. “It’s my hometown and the growth is so attractive to me,” she said. “My family, we love to spend our weekends and evenings down here. I love the small-town vibe.”
