Outdoor drinking of adult beverages, and some indoor drinking of them at select stores, is coming to Liberty Center.
Liberty Twp. trustees Tuesday evening approved the application from Liberty Center for a Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area, or DORA, which will begin this spring once the application is processed by the state of Ohio, a process township officials said takes about three weeks.
“Liberty Center is looking forward to introducing an open container district this Spring, offering another level of entertainment to our guests, while maintaining our family-friendly environment,” said John Taylor, Liberty Center’s general manager.
Once it goes into effect, people who visit places like the Kona Grill, Cantina Laredo, Cooper’s Hawk and other restaurants in the center area could drink alcoholic beverages beyond the doors of the eateries and in certain stores while shopping.
Individual stores will have the ability to be included or opt out of the DORA.
Additional details on how it will operate will be released at a later date, Taylor said.
