Snow flurries, cold weather for MLK Day

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is cloudy and cold with snow flurries.

Some flurries and a few light snow showers across the area this afternoon will likely persist into early evening, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

High temperatures will reach the lower 30s before dipping into the middle to upper 20s overnight, which has a chance of snow between 1 and 5 a.m. Tuesday. Any snow accumulation is expected to be less than half an inch.

Skies will be sunnier Tuesday, though it will remain cold with highs expected in the mid-30s. Clouds are expected in the evening. Overnight lows will be in the lower 20s.

On Wednesday, high temperatures will be in the lower 30s under partly sunny skies. It will be partly cloudy in the evening. Overnight temperatures will fall to the upper 20s, according to the NWS.
