Roli Aroldo Lopez-Sanchez, 37, of Plano, was sentenced Thursday in Collin County Court after he was convicted the previous day of continuous sexual abuse of a child, the television station reported.
Lopez-Sanchez was arrested Feb. 6, 2018, after medical professionals notified police that the girl was 19 weeks pregnant when she visited their office, KTVT reported. The girl, who turned 12, gave birth last summer, the television station reported.
Child Protective Services investigated the case, and Plano police obtained DNA samples of the baby, which confirmed Lopez-Sanchez as the father, KTVT reported.
“This innocent child showed remarkable courage by naming the monster who assaulted her; he will never harm another child again,” Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis said after the sentencing.
