It is the first Dickey’s in the Dayton area, although the Dallas-based chain operates locations in Mason, South Lebanon and Amelia in southwest Ohio, and three in central Ohio north of Columbus.

The restaurant had planned to open on Thursday, but those plans were foiled by “last-minute cooking-equipment issues and technical problems with our cash register system,” according to the restaurant’s post on the Dickey’s Barbecue Pit Springboro Facebook page. “The new plan is for the restaurant to open sometime Friday and definitely on Saturday.”
