Dayton brews steal the show at AleFeast Dayton

The 11th Annual AleFeast where “Craft Beer Meets Fine Food" had plenty of great beers — a lot of it local.

With more than 60 breweries represented, it was a who's who of barley and hops.

Our local breweries stood up to the big craft guns with pours that had every bit of layered, flavorful sudsy charm as breweries much larger who have been brewing much longer.

We lavished in the relaxing mood brought on by the deep and lazy Founders Breakfast Stout. We got fired up with the powerful punch that IPA's like Elysian Space Dust and Old Nation M-43 packed. Deschutes Black Butte Porter was a lavished, layered delight and Samuel Smith's Organic Apricot Ale had us thirsting for more.

There were plenty of nationally marketed and sold craft pours to tempt, but our local breweries came to impress with a list of creations that really became impressive after soaking it up and seeing them from station to station.

Here's a look at the local pours that were being served up in case you missed AleFest. The list also makes a great guide to our local breweries — all places worth a stop to grab a pint.
