Century Bar reopens in its new and bigger downtown Dayton home with same charm

A fresh chapter has begun for one of Dayton’s most acclaimed bars.

The Century Bar reopened on Super Bowl Sunday,  Feb. 2, at its new location, 18 S. Jefferson St.

The bourbon bar left 10 S. Jefferson St. — its home under that same name since 1942 — following a New Year’s Eve bash.

The new location is right next door to the old location in the Fire Blocks District.

All that banging behind closed doors is starting to pay off at Century Bar’s new location, 18 S. Jefferson St.

The bourbon bar and its co-owner Joseph Head have posted updates since leaving 10 S. Jefferson St. — its home under that same name since 1942 — following a New Year’s Eve bash.

“Big day today, phase 1 (which gets us back open) is almost complete,” the bar posted on its official website on Saturday, Jan. 25.

An opening date for the new Century has not been announced.
