Fun adventures in Southwest Ohio

Southwest Ohio has so much to offer folks for fun. With fabulous lakes, parks and nature preserves in the area, there is something to do every day this summer.

Try a round of disc golf, some archery, a zip line ride, canoeing, hiking, fishing or just picnicking with the family. The following are a few places to visit:

In Warren County - check out I&O Scenic Railway. Ride the old-time passenger train over the rolling hill and visit Southwestern Ohio on a relaxing 1-hour round trip. Board the train at Lebanon Station in Lebanon on Ohio 42.

In Montgomery County - visit Carriage Hill Metro Park. The park features approximately 1,000 acres. The reserve allows for hiking, fishing, picnicking, cross country skiing and camping. Or tour the Carriage Hill Metro Park Farm Museum, a living historical farm where volunteers re-create the life of a conservative German Baptist family living in the 1880s. The Visitors Center showcases what life was like in the 1880s and includes a country store that sells penny candy, wooden toys, pottery, fabrics, cast-iron pans and other items made by the blacksmith.

In Logan County - try out the Markin Farms Zip line Adventures. Located at 550 Township Road 30 east in West Liberty, Markin Farms features 13 zip lines and five high-rope challenges. Not far from the historic Ohio Caverns, zip through and see the beauty of the 90-acre farm from high above the trees. Experience our Extreme Zip at the end.
