Beloved restaurant to sell paella to help Puerto Rico

El Meson restaurant has a win-win for local foodies.

The restaurant at 903 E. Dixie Dr. in West Carrollton will hold its Paella Benefit for Puerto Rico from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16.

All proceeds from the  fundraiser will benefit the Hispanic Federation's UNIDOS Disaster Relief Fund. 

For $30 per person, diners will receive mixed salad with tropical mango vinaigrette;

Paella Valencia (chicken, pork, chorizo, fish, shrimp, scallops, mussels, garlic, lemon, peas, pimentos, onions and saffron rice), Tostones ( green fried plantains) and coconut flan.

About 3.4 million Puerto Ricans  have been without electricity and have been in need of food, water and shelter aid since Hurricane Maria ripped through on Sept. 20.
