Best dishes I've ever had in Dayton: Brian Johnson

Ajanta ( 3063 Woodman Drive, Kettering ) - Poori: When discussing Indian food with my contemporaries, I hear far too often “Oh man Indian food. It’s all just a vehicle for Naan Bread” and I just stare blankly at them and I am like “Nah.” Now don’t get me wrong, Naan bread is great. If I were stuck on a deserted island with a giant pile of Naan, I would be content, but every time I took a bite I would only be thinking of my true love, Poori. Poori is a wheat flour, deep-fried pillow of true genius. Unlike its flatter cousin, Poori is fluffy. Different from its malleable cousin, Poori is crispy. While still offering all the benefits of shoveling delicious curries in your mouth. Ajanta makes an incredible Poori, and while you’re there, I recommend ordering it with the Lamb Korma, a creamy lamb stew with golden raisins and cashews. Oh, and if you ever find yourself in an Indian restaurant that offers bhatoor, which is three times the size of a poori and stuffed with paneer and other delicious thing, do not pass it up.
