Abraham and Gabriella Guerra serve the bright flavors of Venezuela, Colombia and other Latin American countries inside of Bar Granada, which reopened at 5 W. Monument Ave. in June with a selection of fine tequilas.

The couple pumps out big flavors from the relatively small space that features a row of hot sauces — some of which will knock your face off.
The festive food is a delight for the eyes and the taste buds.

As the name implies, the restaurant specializes in ground corn maize arepas.

The sandwiches come stuffed with cheese, black beans, avocado and corn to zesty meats including chicken, beef and barbacoa.

The restaurant is open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and also offers a trio of tacos, crispy empanadas, salads, fried plantains, chips and salsa and nachos.

The rice bowl packed with jalapeno, avocado, corn, cilantro, onions, tomato, barbacoa, cheese and sour cream — and leveled up with hot sauce — is my personal favorite at $10.
