FREE VETERANS DAY MEALS: Which local restaurants are offering special deals?

On Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, several restaurants and other businesses are showing their appreciation by offering deals to veterans and active-duty military men and women, including free or reduced meals.

We will be updating our online story as we receive information about Veterans Day deals. Some businesses are extending their offers either before or after Veterans Day. Proof of military service is generally required; the forms of proof vary by business.

On Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11, Applebee's will offer a complimentary full-size entree from a special menu to veterans and active-duty military. The offer is good for dine-in customers only.

Bob Evans

Bob Evans is offering several breakfast options (served all day) and other options from its Everyday Value Dinner lineup for free to veterans and active-duty military on Veterans Day.

Bob Evans is expanding its free offerings for veterans and active duty military this year. On Monday, Nov. 11,  Bob Evans will offer veterans and active duty military members a free meal from the following menu (breakfast served all day):  Country Biscuit Breakfast; Mini Sampler Breakfast; Brioche French Toast; Stack of Hotcakes (Buttermilk or Multigrain); Soup & Salad Combo; and the following options from the Everyday Value dinner lineup: Country-Fried Steak; smaller portion Turkey & Dressing; Homestyle Boneless Fried Chicken Breast; Mushroom and Onion Chopped Steak; Grilled Chicken Breast; Tender Fried Pork Loin; Lemon Pepper Sole; and Ham Steaks

Carrabba’s Italian Grill is offering its Veterans Day special throughout the weekend, from Friday, Nov. 8 through Monday, Nov. 11 . All veterans, active military, police officers and firefighters with a valid military ID can obtain a free order of Calamari with any purchase. All Carraba’s restaurants also offer 10 percent off to all active and retired service members anytime they visit their local Carrabba’s Italian Grill.

Chipotle Mexican Grill

Chipotle is offering a Buy-One, Get One Free deal on Monday, Nov. 11, in which active-duty and retired military service members can receive a free entrée when a second entree of the same or greater price is purchased. The offer is good from open to close. The promotion is valid for in-restaurant orders only, not for delivery.

City Barbeque

City Barbeque will commemorate Veterans Day by treating veterans and troops to a meal. All day on Monday, Nov. 11, all veterans and U.S. military will receive a free sandwich, two sides and a regular beverage, available on either dine-in or carryout orders, at every City Barbeque location.

Logan’s Roadhouse

On Monday, Nov. 11, Logan’s Roadhouse is inviting all active duty and retired U.S. military personnel to enjoy a free meal from of the American Roadhouse menu. This offer is available from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at all Logan’s Roadhouse restaurants nationwide.

O’Charley’s Restaurant & Bar

O’Charley’s will honor all active duty and veteran military personnel on Monday, Nov. 11,  when veterans will have their choice of a free meal from a special Veterans Day “Thank You Menu.” O’Charley’s also offers a discount of 10 percent to military service members all year long, at participating restaurants.

Panera Bread

Veterans can receive a free You-Pick-Two meal that includes any two half-portions of soup, salad, sandwiches, flatbreads, or mac and cheese. The offer is available all day on Monday, Nov. 11.

Locations: More than a dozen locations across the Miami Valley

Pilot Flying J

Pilot Flying J, which operates travel centers across the country, is treating active-duty and retired military veterans to a free breakfast Nov. 8-11. This includes a free Pilot Coffee of any size with a choice of one free PJ Fresh breakfast sandwich, breakfast pizza or breakfast grill item. Customers must download the Pilot Flying J app to redeem the offer. A spokeswoman for Pilot Flying J told this news outlet that all Pilot and Flying J locations are participating in this deal. Those locations that do not have PJ Fresh breakfast items are still able to offer the deal on a grill items and coffee, the spokeswoman said.

Pizza Hut

Hallrich Incorporated, the franchisee for all Dayton-area Pizza Hut restaurants in the greater Dayton region, said its restaurants that have lunch buffets will offer all veterans a free Pizza Hut lunch buffet on Nov. 11. Hours will vary but most buffets will be ready to accommodate veterans between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Pizza Hut locations that do not have lunch buffets will offer veterans a free Lunch4Less meal deal.

Red Lobster

Red Lobster has added pizza to its menu.

Red Lobster will be offering a free appetizer or dessert to veterans, active-duty military and reservists with a valid military ID on Monday, Nov. 11. The offer is available for dine-in or on to-go orders picked up in-restaurant. Guests only need to show a valid military ID or proof of service to redeem this offer. Appetizer choices include Sweet Chili Shrimp, Mozzarella Cheesesticks, Parrot Isle Jumbo Coconut Shrimp, Seafood-Stuffed Mushrooms, Lobster and Langostino Pizza, Signature Shrimp Cocktail or Langostino Lobster-Artichoke-and-Seafood Dip. Dessert choices are Vanilla Bean Cheesecake, Key Lime Pie, Warm Apple Crostada, Chocolate Wave or Brownie Overboard.

Red Robin

Red Robin is offering all veterans and active duty military members a free Red’s Tavern Double burger with Bottomless Steak Fries on Monday, Nov. 11 at participating locations. A spokeswoman for Red Robin confirmed that Dayton-area Red Robin restaurants are participating in the offer.

Locations: Miller Lane in Butler Twp./Vandalia, near the Mall at Fairfield Commons in Beavercreek, and in West Chester

Smokey Bones

All Smokey Bones restaurants are offering active-duty and retired military members a free dessert all day on Veterans Day, Nov. 11. Veterans can select from a Hot Bag O’Donuts, Chocolate Cake, Mixed Berry Cheesecake or a Belgian Waffle Sundae. The offer is valid on dine-in orders only.

Sweeney’s Seafood Bar & Grill

Sweeney’s will be offering a free Shrimp Cocktail to active military and veterans who purchase any dinner entree on Veterans Day.

Location: Downtown Centerville

White Castle

White Castle is celebrating Veterans Day on Nov. 11 by offering a free Combo Meal or Breakfast Combo Meal to all veterans and active military members who dine at one of its restaurants.

LOCATIONS: Trotwood, Franklin, Middletown, Hamilton, Springfield, South Lebanon
