This new downtown Dayton bar has fresh oysters every Thursday

So imagine our pleasant surprise to learn Hannah's, located at 121 N. Ludlow St. downtown, now serves fresh oysters every Thursday night.

Owner Luke Feerer started the weekly feature as part of the club's free jazz night a week ago and said it turned out to be a hit.

“They were big and they were muddy and they were alive -- doesn't get much fresher than that in Dayton folks!” Feerer said from Hannah’s Facebook page.

He’s managed to hook up with a reliable supplier who provides the fresh Chesapeake Bay oysters to the bar and restaurant.

They are alive until Feerer shucks and cleans them himself, and served for $2.50 a piece. Hannah's also offers oyster shooters, and will eventually add steamed oysters to the Thursday night menu.
