Dayton Burger Week, a partnership between Cincinnati CityBeat and The Ohio Beef Council, is set for Aug. 6 to 12.

Participating restaurants will sell gourmet burgers for $5 each.

Mudlick Tap House  is among the restaurants that have signed on to participate.

Jennifer Dean, the co-owner of the eatery at 135 E. Second St. in downtown Dayton, plans to offer three burgers: its signature Black Hawk Farms wagyu beef burger,  its white bean tabbouleh burger and one created by the winner of a social media contest that also comes with a pair of tickets to the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival.

Here is the description from the Facebook page:

From gourmet blends to off-menu specialties and even beer pairings, this is a week dedicated to America’s sweetheart, the Hamburger! Each restaurateur and Chef will prepare their unique take on the burger. Dine-In, Take-Out, & Delivery options available, depending on location.

The idea is to get people to embrace the food, culture and Dayton-love while getting them out to eat, drink, and try new places!

Burger week will draw hardcore burger fanatics and people that can appreciate a good hearty meal. So fire up the grill and let burger mania take control!

Dean said the week will be similar to Cincinnati Burger Week, set for July 16-22.
