You can now get breakfast for dinner from Butter Cafe delivered to you on the weekends

Late night near the University of Dayton is decidedly more delicious.

Butter Cafe, the popular breakfast and lunch spot at 1106 Brown St., launched its late night walk-up window Friday, March 30.

The window will serve a limited menu 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

Can't make it down to Brown Street, but still craving breakfast for dinner? Butter Cafe will be available for delivery by DoorDash during the hours of 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, according to a Facebook post.

If all goes as planned, late nights near the University of Dayton are about to get far more delicious.

Butter Cafe, the popular breakfast and lunch spot at 1106 Brown St. in Dayton, plans to begin serving a late-night menu, according to co-owner Sarah Dudley.

“We just feel like it’s a need for late night dining around here,” she said. “There’s not many places that have late night dining.”

The restaurant hopes to start selling a limited menu from a side window near its parking lot beginning in the next three weeks or so, Dudley said.

She said the window will be “jazzed up” for its new purpose.

Butter hinted at the window last week on its Facebook page:

Opened in the former location of Dolcessa gelato shop in 2010, Butter serves a variety of  vegan and vegetarian dishes as well as locally grown, free range eggs, waffles, French toast, pancakes, burgers, salads, baked goods and sandwiches.

Initially, the restaurant's walk-up window will serve a limited menu on weekends from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m., Dudley said.

Items will likely include Butter’s famed potatoes as well as eggs, breakfast sandwiches and pancakes.

“It will be a scaled-down menu,” she said.

The restaurant employees about 20 people. Dudley said schedules will be reorganized to fill the weekend breakfast needs.

“I feel like it will be a lot busier when school is in (session),” she said.
