The locally owned Arepas & Co. Colombian Comfort Food restaurants in Washington Twp., Kettering and downtown Dayton have declared 2019 as “the year to give back,” and they’re putting their money behind their declaration today and every subsequent Thursday through February to help raise money for cancer research, according to Arepas & Co. co-owner Lisa Perdomo.
Today and the next four Thursdays, all Arepas locations are providing a portion of sales to lymphoma research in partnership with Centerville schools student Jaynie Pulaski, who will be hosting some of the fund-raising efforts, Perdomo said.
In addition to donating a portion of sales, Arepas restaurants are raffling off gift cards.
Plans are in the works for Motorcycles for Melanoma on Mondays in May fund-raising effort, Perdomo said.
