“We are just thankful that we have great customers and they support us, and we try to support them,” president said.

The folks over at a classic Dayton restaurant chain are recovering from a week literally spent rolling out the dough.

Marion's Piazza President and CEO Roger Glass said a record 65,735 pizzas were sold during the business' nine locations during the annual, five-day pizza sale.

The previous record set in 2015 was 65,230.

It was the 11th year for the Marion’s annual sale. Approximately 60,000 pizzas are sold each year.

Some years, the restaurant chain has offered throwback prices.

The longest wait for pizza this year was about an hour, Glass said, noting that the stores brought in additional staffing.

“Our customers are so wonderful,” Glass said. “It is just a thank you to our customers.”
