Hannah’s, named after owner Luke Feerer’s 9-year-old daughter, opened its doors for the first time on June 3. Although patrons have been enjoying the full-service bar while the downstairs kitchen is under construction, Feerer started to feel pressure to push out a lunch menu.
“It’s almost like having a baby or falling in love, it’s never the perfect time,” Feerer said. “I ideally would’ve wanted to run the bar for a few months before (serving food).”
However, Hannah’s Monday through Friday hours meant customers were coming in hungry after a long work day. They needed some grub!
So instead of waiting for a finished kitchen complete with a range and stoves, Feerer pressed on the accelerator and started pressing out paninis.
“I had to bring it ... and in the end, the result is local products and slow roasted meats — and it’s awesome,” Feerer said.
Plans for a fully functioning kitchen are still a go. For now, however, customers will watch as their food is prepared behind the bar with a few panini presses, a small oven and a commercial roaster.
Using fresh meat exclusively from Dot’s Market, Hannah’s new lunch menu is all about the sammies.
“Slam it into a gourmet grilled cheese, wrap it, or toss it” -- Feerer and his crew will make it your way. Customize your creation with either slow roasted beef, pork tenderloin or chicken.
The menu became available Monday and will continue to be available during Hannah’s regular business hours.
