4 of the most delicious (and healthy) bowls from the new CoreLife Eatery

DANG! We didn’t know healthy food could taste THIS good.

CoreLife Eatery opened at the Cornerstone of Centerville on Nov. 10, 2017, so naturally the Dayton.com team had to investigate to see if it lived up to the hype.

We tried greens bowls, grain bowls and broth bowls for lunch and here’s what we thought.

The Mediterranean green bowl from CoreLife Eatery had a shredded kale & chopped romaine base, house-made hummus, house-made falafel, cucumbers, tomatoes, feta, red onion. We tried it with the suggested with cucumber. ASHLEY BETHARD / STAFF (Ashley Bethard)

🥗 Taste-tester Ashley Bethard had this to say:

This bowl is SO good, and $8 is a great price for really healthy food ... and a LOT of it. There were generous amounts of cucumbers, tomatoes and red onions, which really balanced out the kale.

The falafel, hummus, cucumber-basil dressing and feta cheese were all really delicious on their own, but it made the perfect combination of flavors together. Oh, and did I mention the dressing? Because I would happily put it on everything.

Tuna Poke Grain Bowl

The Tuna Poke grain bowl featured poke ahi tuna, cabbage, cucumber, quinoa, carrots, scallions, avocado, kale, almonds, sesame seeds, edamame. We tried it with the suggested with miso sesame ginger dressing. MARK FISHER / STAFF (Mark Fisher)

🍛 Taste-tester Mark Fisher had this to say:

The Tuna Poke Grain Bowl ($10) was a winner. Small square-cut chunks of uncooked, marinated Ahi tuna is served in a colorful bowl of cucumber, quinoa, carrots, scallions, avocado, kale, cabbage, sliced toasted almonds, sesame seeds and edamame. Follow CoreLife's suggestion and order the Miso sesame-ginger dressing -- it has a nice ginger bite that brings the flavors together.

Sriracha Ginger Tofu & Acient Grains Bowl

The Sriracha Ginger Tofu & Ancient Grains was the only vegan option we tried. It featured warm quinoa, shredded kale, roasted tofu, carrots, raw beets, broccoli, ginger, sriracha. We tried it with the suggested carrot chili vinaigrette dressing. SIERRA SMITH / STAFF (Sierra Smith)

🍛 Taste-tester Sierra Smith had this to say:

It was tangy and I feel like it had a hint of lime in it which was refreshing and it wasn't too spicy either!

Usually with these things my mouth catches on fire and I want to die -- for example, spicy chicken from Bibibop for the first time -- but this was a good, mild spicy.

And I liked the texture combo of soft tofu with crunchy greens and carrots, plus it was just pretty with all the colors.

AND I FEEL HEALTHY AF. CLEAN MAYNE.

Spicy Ginger Steak & Rice Noodle Broth Bowl

The Spicy Ginger Steak & Rice Noodle broth bowl featured a beef bone broth, grass fed steak, rice noodles, shredded kale, broccoli, carrots, scallions, sliced almonds, ginger, cilantro, sriracha. ALLEGRA CZERWINSKI / STAFF

🍲 Taste-tester Allegra Czerwinski had this to say:

The broth bowl ($8.95) was a perfect choice for a chilly day. It had a surprising amount of texture, thanks to the shredded kale and broccoli, and the broth itself was extremely flavorful. The sriracha gave it a little kick and the notes of ginger shined through, making the dish a little brighter.
