In all, Tony Frank, the event’s organizer, said that 18 burgers will be served and no, you don’t have to eat all 18 unless you want to.
“Some people are up to it,” he said. “You never know.”
Burgers will cost $5 each. Extras items like French fries will be sold at an additional cost.
Among the standouts is The Old Crow Medicine Show, the winner of a contest designed by Mudlick Tap House, 135 E. Second St. in downtown Dayton, to promote Dayton Burger Week.
“That was a burger that was created by a customer and it sounds so good,” Frank said.

The Old Medicine Show is a grass fed beef burger on a homemade biscuit with shoestring onion rings, bacon jam and finished with pimento cheese.
Franks also had high hopes for the Brixx Chili Burger at Brixx Ice Company, 500 E. First St. in downtown Dayton, and The Mac Daddy (a mac and cheese creation) at EO Burgers, 4482 Glengarry Dr. at the Greene in Beavercreek.

That said, Frank said there is plenty of other deliciousness to sink your teeth in.
“The places that are involved are excited and many of them have multiple options,” he added.

Burger Week organizer Tony Frank said one single man in Cincinnati downed 52 burgers during that city's burger week last year.
Yes, 1 DUDE TOOK DOWN 52 BURGERS in a week.
"It was a week of gluttony," Frank said of the seven-day festival, a partnership between Cincinnati CityBeat, a Euclid Media Group newspaper, and The Ohio Beef Council.
Eating 52 burgers is not necessarily advisable and far from the norm, but Frank said people really get into trying gourmet burgers created by local chefs.

“Restaurants go through thousands and thousands of pounds of beef during these weeks,” he said. “Burgers are very popular right now and a lot of people take pride in the creation of burgers.”

Diners will be given Dayton Burger Week passports to get stamped at participating restaurants.
Those with at least three stamps will be eligible for a grand prize drawing that includes gifts cards and an ultimate grill out.
Frank said he plans to partner with a charity for the week to raise awareness.
“Keep in mind there are people who are not getting the nutrition to get them through the day,” he said.
Euclid Media Group will also hold new burger weeks this year in Cleveland, St. Louis and Detroit.

Frank said the week helps restaurants and Ohio farmers and often introduces customers to new eateries.
