HS Results 11/28: Twin Valley South girls have record breaking night

In a 58-20 victory over Jefferson, the Twin Valley South girls basketball team both set a record and tied an existing one.

Twin Valley South had 29 steals on the night, setting a new record for the program, while Mylan Crews had 14 steals to tie her own single-game steals record.

Crews also led the team with 18 points.

Kelsie Shafer tacked on 13 points, while Abby Bingham sunk three from behind the three point line to earn nine points for the Panthers.

Tianna Hayes led Jefferson with 10 points.

Twin Valley South will play Covington this Thursday at home.

Girls Basketball

Botkins 57, Fairlawn 34: Taira Greves led Botkins with 15 points, while Sarah Bergman and Paige Lane followed close behind with 13 and 12 points respectively. Claire Spicer netted 10 points for Fairlawn in their loss.

Coldwater 61, Van Wert 52: Lauren Gilliland had an outstanding offensive night, amassing 20 points and 19 rebounds. Kourtney Diller chipped in 15 points and seven rebounds. Lauren Bruns and Alli May each tacked on eight more points.

Edgewood 45, Fenwick 38: Zoe Stephens tallied 13 points to lead Edgewood to victory. Hannah Beckman scored 10 in the Fenwick loss.

Legacy Christian 55, Lehman Catholic 32: Anne Kensinger led Legacy Christian Academy with 13 points on the night. Alanna O’Leary netted 10 points in the Lehman Catholic loss.

Marion Local 51, Waynesfield Goshen 25: Heidi Rethman scored 14 points for ML in the win, while teammates Kara Evers and Alanna Pohlman each chipped in 12 additional points.

Middletown Christian 26, New Miami 19: Xyann Fisher tallied nearly half of Middletown Christian’s points, scoring 12 on the night.

Oakwood 55, Monroe 50: Lauren Hapgood netted 23 points on the night, while Kyndall Ketterer tacked on 18 to lead Oakwood to victory for their season opener.

Russia 52, Houston 34: Larissa Polling scored 16 points for Russia to help them to a win. Jenna Cordonnier added on 14 to solidify the victory.

Tri County North 44, Brookville 25: Megan Poling and Aubrey Stupp each tallied 12 points for TCN in their victory. Kylie Surber netted six points in the Brookville loss.

West Liberty-Salem 36, Mechanicsburg 20: Kelsey Day netted 10 points to lead WLS, going 2-for-6 on three point attempts. Gabby Hollar was right behind, scoring eight points and going 2-for-4 from the three point line.

Girls Bowling

West Liberty-Salem 1778, Riverside 1460: Hailee Clifford led the way for WLS, bowling games of 173 and 138 for a 311 series. Rachel Larson rolled a 268 series.

Boys Bowling

Coldwater 2968, Minster 2331: Caden Seitz led with games of 234 and 235 for a 469 series for Coldwater. Evan Diller followed closely with a 225 game.
