Crafted & Cured, a craft beer bar that specializes in cured meats at 531 Wayne Ave. in Dayton, has closed its doors permanently at its current location, but may announce a new location before the end of the week, its owners wrote Tuesday morning, July 21, on the bar’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

Crafted & Cured opened in 2016 in District Provisions, located in the Dietz Block building, built in 1886 at Wayne Avenue and Jones Street. It featured 60 taps of mostly craft beer, and also served ciders and wines, along with a variety of meats, cheeses and charcuterie boards. The bar was founded by local entrepreneurs Andy Routson and Christian Alvarez.

Here is the closure announcement shared with customers on social media:

“To our beloved customers and the Dayton community, it is with complex emotion to announce that Crafted & Cured located at District Provisions (531 Wayne Ave.) is permanently closed, effective immediately. 5 years ago, we signed this lease with great ambition to provide an unmatched experience to the Dayton community. Aligned with our intention, we valued the opportunity to revitalize a piece of history. Sentiments that we still hold dear today. While we aim to serve the most unique offerings and create an intimate customer ambiance, we have perpetually struggled with inadequate property management.”

With these unresolved issues and the opportunity to end our lease, we’ve come to terms with this reality and have made the decision to move on. And while we would have preferred the opportunity to plan a seamless transition to a new space, things just didn’t line up that way. Over the past five years, we’ve been able to celebrate, champion and build lasting relationships within the Dayton community. For that, we are forever grateful and fueled with a deep commitment to our hometown.”

“With that commitment, we have worked diligently to secure a better future and home for Crafted & Cured, aligned with a property management group better suited for our vision and values. Thank you for the years of unwavering support, especially over the past few months. Our gratitude is rooted in our commitment to return in greater service to this community than ever before. Stay tuned for a very exciting announcement coming this Thursday!”
