Hundreds of research scientists, engineers attend Inspire and Tech Expo

Nearly 500 research scientists and engineers from the Air Force Research Laboratory came together Thursday, for the third annual Inspire and Tech Expo events.

“This is a celebration of the people and contributions that help the AFRL succeed,” said Maj. Gen. William Cooley, commander of the Air Force Research Laboratory.

The event is meant to inspire the Air Force’s current and future workforce, he said.

The gathering was held at the Dayton Convention Center.

Inspire and Tech Expo provides the base’s researchers, scientists, and engineers, the opportunity to tell their story and share about the things they’re doing, he said.

“It’s important to not forget that what you’re seeing, keeps us safe,” Cooley said.

More than half a dozen experts attended the event to explain what is currently developing in their area of the AFRL.

“This isn’t just turning the crank on engineering problems, we’re really making a difference for war fighters, for our nation,” Cooley said.
