Café giving away free burger TODAY to celebrate Earth Day

Northstar Café is celebrating its 14th Earth Day today by giving away a free vegetable burger.

The giveaway starts at 3 p.m. and runs until 10 p.m. at all Northstar locations, including Liberty CenterEaston and Westerville, as well as Beechwold and Short North.

The restaurant’s signature burger is made with organic brown rice, black beans and beets.

“We know every decision we make affects the health of the community on a local and global scale,” the restaurant posted to its Liberty Center site. “That’s why we make conscious choices about everything from the takeout containers we use to the organic clothes we wear.

“Most importantly, it’s why we choose locally grown, organic, and artisan produced foods, not only to protect the environment and to support producers whose values align with ours, but to serve the most wholesome and delicious food we possibly can.”

The restaurant’s burger isn’t the only earth-friendly item on Northstar’s menu. Other examples include its house-made granola, which is made with Ohio maple syrup, and its crisp pizzas that feature hand-made wheat and spelt crusts and fresh vegetables.

Northstar Cafe also offers an in-house bakery and fresh juice bar, coffee service featuring organic, direct-trade varieties, and a lineup of local beers.
