Police said the two shot at the suspect multiple times, KPRC reported. Firefighters pronounced the suspect dead at the scene, according to KHOU. The suspect's identity has not been released.
Detectives said surveillance cameras on a nearby home captured the gunshots and showed the man walking down the street.
Authorities told KTRK the couple went outside after the shooting and put their weapons on the ground as they waited for police to arrive.
Police said the homeowners will likely not be charged, according to KTRK.
