According to police, the suspect opened fire on the woman and her cat after an argument at an apartment complex, the Houston Chronicle reported.
The man fired one shot, which hit the woman in the leg and killed her kitten, KTRK reported.
The woman was taken to an area hospital and is in stable condition, the television station reported. Police are looking for the suspect.
