KeyBank clients will have to get an appointment or use the drive-through as the company took steps to protect staff and customers from coronavirus.

The bank will still offer all its services.

The new policy is effective March 19.

Clients who want to make a withdrawal, deposit, payment or other transaction will be able to use KeyBank drive-throughs.

Anyone needing additional services that require meeting with a banker, such as loan applications, will have to call their local branch and make an appointment.

Appointments can be made online on individual branch websites as well.

ATMs will continue to be accessible at all hours.

The company also announced programs and resources for clients struggling during the pandemic. Customers may be eligible for waived fees, a forbearance or extension or waived penalties for an early CD withdrawal. More details about resources are available at Key.com/coronavirus.

Next week, the company will launch a shorter-term unsecured personal loan. The Temporary Assistance Loan is designed to have same-day approval and next-day funding with low rates. More information on the loan will be released at a later time.
