Johnston Farm & Indian Agency in Piqua announces opening date

The Johnston Farm & Indian Agency, located at 9845 N. Hardin Road, announced that it will open to the public on Thursday, June 18 through the end of August. The hours will be: Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, Noon to 5 p.m.

Canal Boat rides will be 12:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.; the Home and Museum will open 30 minutes later and close at 4:30 p.m. to provide time to clean in order to keep both staff and visitors safe.

Visitors will be welcomed at the winter kitchen to look at family life as it was for the Johnstons. There will be textile demonstrations on the patio/porch area, as well as cooking demonstrations in the courtyard. The Johnston Barn and the Adena Mound and Earthwork will be open to visitors throughout the day; the Museum will be open to showcase both Native American and Canal History exhibits.
