A community in Louisiana received a special holiday blessing Sunday, delivered using an unconventional method.
Parishioners of St. Anne Church in Cow Island enlisted the help of a crop duster pilot to spray holy water over the town and bless their community, the Diocese of Lafayette wrote on its Facebook page.
In total, 100 gallons of holy water was spread across the town and nearby farms, according to the diocese. In addition, parishioners brought water from home to be blessed by Rev. Matthew Barzare.
L'Eryn Detraz, a Cow Island native who is a missionary stationed in Ohio, is credited with the idea for the blessing, The Daily Advertiser reported.
