A dog owner is outraged after she says her dog was returned to her from a Florida groomer with a neon dye job and an infection.

According to The Palm Beach Post, Graziella Puleo's goldendoodle was scheduled for a buzz cut and teeth cleaning at Amores Pet Salon, Dog Grooming, Day Care and Boarding Spa in Lake Worth, Florida. WPTV reported she booked an appointment for Lola on July 28.

"I heard about the groomers through a friend of a friend who takes their dog there," Puleo told WPTV. "Before taking Lola there, I searched up the place and found all their great reviews."

Puleo said that when she picked up her dog, her whiskers and eyebrows were cut, her eyebrows and tail were shaved and colored neon green, and her ears were neon pink.

"I noticed they'd shaved her eyebrows off and tried to fix the mistake by drawing green eyebrows on her," Puleo told the newspaper. "She looks like you painted on her and were trying to turn her into a clown."

Puleo said the underside of the dog was cut so close that it caused an infection, which had to be treated by a veterinarian.

WPEC reported that Puleo said her dog's teeth weren't cleaned and her nails weren't cut, but ripped off.

Adams told WPTV she did the dye job on Puleo's dog "to make her smile" because the staff heard Puleo's mother was in the hospital.

"We beautify the dog ... If we see it's missing something, we do color, sometimes, the dog," Adams told The Palm Beach Post. "We did wrong about the color. We should have offered her first."

According to the newspaper, Adams gave Puleo a $150 refund and offered a complimentary service.

WPEC reported Lola's infection has cleared up. Puleo said a veterinarian told her they will have to wait for the dye job to grow out.

Puleo said she came forward with her story to alert other dog owners and remind them to do extra research before taking their pets to groomers.
