Zoo officials said the lion was too close to an employee but that the situation was under control within minutes.
According to officials, there were two zookeepers at the lion exhibit when the incident happened.
The second zookeeper was able to warn the employee of danger, and the first zookeeper jumped into the moat to escape the lion, according to zoo officials.
The zookeeper was shocked by the electric fence in the enclosure, but was not seriously injured.
