A man approached an officer who was already at a Walmart at 1 p.m. and explained that he had found his stolen truck in the parking lot, KETV reported.
As the officer and victim approached, the suspect, who has not been identified, got in and started the truck. The owner jumped on the hood in an attempt to stop the suspect.
The truck owner was able to break out the back window and enter the cab. The suspect jumped out of the truck and fell under it and was run over by the rear wheel, police said.
He was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
