Ron Howard spotted in Middletown again at popular coffee shop

Triple Moon Coffee Company continues to be a popular Middletown place to get coffee or a sandwich, and it seems to have a new regular stopping by from time to time when he’s in town.

Academy Award-winning director Ron Howard visited the downtown Middletown coffee house for a latte about noon on Monday afternoon. During his visit, he donned a Triple Moon cap and posed for photos with two employees, which were posted on its Facebook page.

“Look who came back to see us again today, our friend Ron Howard!” Triple Moon wrote on Facebook. “He happily donned a Triple Moon hat, and posed for some awesome photos with Dianah and Cortney. We think it’s safe to say that he’s a fan of the Moon!”

Kylie Booker, a Triple Moon employee, said that Howard had also stopped by twice on Saturday and also had lunch there, ordering the “Bad Hunter” vegetarian wrap on the menu.

“We’re hoping he will come back,” Booker said. “I’m sure we’ll see him again if he’s in town.”

Howard has been visiting Middletown as part of his preparations to direct and produce a film adaptation of “Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis,” that was written by J.D. Vance about growing up in Middletown and Jackson, Ky. The memoir was a best-seller released in 2016.

Last October, the former “Happy Days” star also stopped by the Triple Moon and was spotted at a Middletown pharmacy.
