Forbes has released its list of “America’s Best Employers of 2018” and a Dayton area college made the cut.
Sinclair Community College was ranked No. 93 on the Forbes list of the 500 best mid-size American employers, according to the school. Sinclair was the only college from Ohio to make the list and the only community college in the country to be ranked.

“We’re thrilled to be recognized by Forbes’ as one of America’ Best Mid-Size Employers,” Sinclair president Steve Johnson said. “This has been an exciting year for us.”
Sinclair employs over 3,000 full and part-time employees and around 4,303 and has been around for more than 130 years.
To compile the list, Forbes identified top American companies best liked by their employees through a survey. The survey included feedback from 30,000 Americans working for companies with more than a 1,000 employees, according to Sinclair.

Survey respondents were asked to choose a company based on how likely they were to recommend the employer and which employer in their industry they would nominate.
Sinclair capped off a big school year last week by awarding 5,800 degrees and certificates, a new record for the college. The college is also close to being able to offer two bachelor’s degrees and will open a new learning center in Centerville next spring.
