Crews tore down today what had become an iconic landmark for the city of Fairborn over the years.
Skyborn Skateland first opened in 1956, and thousands of visitors took spins around the rink before it closed permanently in 2015.
Despite its closing nearly 5 years ago, the vacant building was still considered a Fairborn staple by many residents, as evidenced by numerous posts on the Facebook group "Remembering Skyborn Skateland."
This newsroom will provide updates on any announcements regarding the land, as well as the vacant drive-in theater owned by the same company.
