The Big Library Read is an international reading program that connects millions of readers around the world with one eBook title.

This session will focus on the nonfiction book, “Homes: A Refugee Story” by Abu Bakr al Rabeeah and Winning Yeung. The book chronicles the struggles of the al Rabeeah family who left their home in Iraq for Syria in hope of a safer life – just before the Syrian civil war broke out.

“Big Library Read is an exciting way for individuals from across the country, and even internationally, to share a common reading experience,” Holly Varley, Collection Development Director for Dayton Metro Library, said in a press release. “We encourage our readers to borrow a digital version of the title April 1-15, then delve into the online discussion that will be taking place.”

"Homes: A Refugee Story" will be available in eBook format, with no waitlists or holds, through DaytonMetroLibrary.org.
