German Village, a historic neighborhood located south of downtown Columbus, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. In 2011, the American Planning Association named German Village one of the Great Places in America in the Neighborhoods category. Frank Fetch Park, Lindey's Restaurant & Bar, neighborhood homes and The Umbrella Girl sculpture in Schiller Park, who is mysteriously draped in a red cloak are decorated for the holiday season.
