Michael D. Pitman has been a reporter in southwest Ohio since 1999. He's covered local governments in Warren and Butler counties, as well as state and national issues. He primarily covers the cities of Hamilton and Fairfield.
Previously, Michael has provided local coverage of the 2016 presidential election, the 2018 U.S. Senate race and the 2020 presidential election, as well as helping to lead election coverage of local elections.
Michael is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists and has won multiple Ohio Associated Press awards for his reporting. He was also the 2017 Distinguished Communicator of the Year by the Salesian Guild of Catholic Communicators of Greater Cincinnati.
Michael was born and raised in the Cincinnati suburb of Wyoming and is a Wyoming High School grad. He earned a B.A. from the College of Mount St. Joseph (now Mount St. Joseph University) and an M.Ed. in Sport Administration from Xavier University. He lives in Cincinnati with his wife and two children.
