Your mother does not have to actually be wicked to enjoy the smash Broadway hit “Wicked,” but it would be nice if she were into musicals and/or hilarity and/or drama and/or the “Wizard of Oz.”

A good number of seats in the lower and upper balconies as well as the loge level were available for both the 2 p.m. and the 7:30 p.m. shows Sunday as of our press time.

Tickets are $43 to $127 for shows through May 17.

Visit ticketcenterstage.com to purchase or call (937) 228-3630.

Feeling lucky? A day-of-performance lottery for a limited number of $25 orchestra seats will be held at 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

What mom doesn’t like a good joke?

Local comedy clubs will provide a reason to chuckle this Sunday.

    • Comedian Brad Williams has a 7:30 p.m. show at The Dayton Funny Bone at The Greene in Beavercreek, 88 Plum St. Suite 200.

Here is Williams’ bio from the Funny Bone’s website: “Brad Williams is a little person who appeared regularly on the hit Comedy Central show “Mind of Mencia”. In fact, Brad got his start by attending a Carlos Mencia live comedy show. While he was in the crowd, Mencia made jokes about dwarfs. The people sitting close to Williams were scared to laugh. Mencia noticed this, then noticed Williams, and he asked Brad to join him on stage. Brad cracked a few jokes and impressed Mencia so much that he asked Brad to be his opening act on both the “Mind of Mencia” Tour and the popular “Punisher” Tour. Brad”s ability to make humorous observations that make everyone comfortable with the differences in people is winning over audiences and proving that anyone can overcome their shortcomings.”

Brian Swinehart will perform at Wiley’s Comedy Club, 101 Pine St. in Dayton’s Oregon District, at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $5 online and $10 at the door.

Here is a little from Swinehart’s bio from the Wiley’s website: “Brian Swinehart left his small country town in Ohio to travel to California to pursue a career as an entertainer. Prior to his departure, many of the town locals joked with Brian saying ‘You’ll be back. See you in six months.’

It’s been over a decade since Brian’s move, and he has not looked back. He has only gained speed and momentum along the way. Swinehart has delighted crowds around the world with his wit and charm. Brian has a crowd-pleasing style that blends stories, one-liners and impressions.”
