Brad Haber has purchased the Original Pancake House at 1516 Miamisburg-Centerville Road in Washington Twp. east of the Dayton Mall. Haber spent 14 years with the company that oversaw local Milano's and Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants until they were sold to the chains' parent company in 2012. He also served on the board of the Miami Valley Restaurant Association.

More recently, he worked for Michigan-based Diversified Restaurant Holdings, a large BWW franchisee that also operated Bagger Dave’s restaurants, and served as senior vice president and president of Bagger Dave’s, a small chain that operates a restaurant at the Cornerstone of Centerville.
“I spent three years on the road before I decided to quit and come here to purchase a restaurant — and I couldn’t be happier,” Haber said.

The Original Pancake House seats 155 and employs about 26. Haber said he kept the entire staff of the restaurant after purchasing the franchise from Peter Benjamin, who had operated the breakfast-and-lunch spot for 15 years.
The former owners, Haber said, put a lot of hard work and dedication into the business and the building.
“It was running so well, I knew I wouldn’t have to fix anything,” Haber said.

The Original Pancake House is known for its pancakes, of course, and also for its six-egg omelets, crepes, bacon and coffee, Haber said. The only menu tweak on the horizon will be the addition of a gluten-free buttermilk pancake.
The Original Pancake House opens at 7 a.m. daily. It closes at 1:45 p.m. Monday through Friday, and at 2:45 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. For more information, call (937) 438-5720.
