See how a 6-foot stack of pancakes has transformed this Dayton diner

Dayton artist Tiffany Clark of The Mural Machine just finished her latest masterpiece. This project is breakfast-themed to highlight just what Butter Cafe does best. Pancakes, a fork holding a cherry, spilled coffee and some colorful cupcakes now decorate the exterior of the diner located at 1106 Brown St. Daisies were also added for a chic flair to the mural, typical of Butter.

“I just trusted her and it worked out great,” said Amy Beaver, owner of Butter Cafe.

Beaver met Clark and her boyfriend, Christopher “Etch” Weyrich, the other half of The Mural Machine team, while the couple frequently enjoyed brunch at the cafe. The well-known artists know Butter Cafe’s vibe so well, Beaver said she had complete faith that Clark would know exactly how to handle the project.

Work by The Mural Machine is often on display, for sale, inside the hot brunch spot.

“I think that it (street art) just makes everything prettier,” Beaver said. “The colors are nice and it makes people happier. Sometimes you’re going along and you see something and it makes you smile and just pause to think, ‘Oh, that’s nice.’ We could all use more of that.”
