Summer concert season is starting sooner and running later this year. Mark your calendars for these top events.

Area music fans will have plenty of opportunities to indulge in their love for R&B, rock, jazz, country, pop, world music and other styles this summer.

And this year, summer concert season is starting early with the first show at Rose Music Center later this month.

With Levitt Pavilion entering its second season of programming and local anchors like Fraze Pavilion, Rose Music Center and RiverScape MetroPark continuing to host a wide variety of outdoor concerts, there are more options than ever.

Some of the highlights include Diana Ross at Fraze Pavilion on July 6, Brian Wilson at Rose Music Center on June 18 and Ruthie Foster at Levitt Pavilion on June 6.

 

Of course, not every notable act is performing on an outside stage. Melissa Etheridge performs at Kuss Auditorium on May 8 and the Oak Ridge Boys perform at Victoria Theatre on May 18, while the Dayton Art Institute welcomes back Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra’s Concert Master Jessica Hung on June 2. JD Legends has Steve Earle on June 1, while the newly opened Belmont venue Turnbuckles and Brews hosts Kings X on July 28.

 

Other big names include Little Big Town, Sheryl Crow, Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo with Richard Marx, The B-52s, Michael Bolton, Sugarland, “Weird Al” Yankovic and Morrissey. Info on these and other area concerts is available below.
