JUST IN: Rock goddess Pat Benatar, Neil Giraldo coming to Dayton area with Richard Marx

A couple that rocks together stays together. 

Said couple— Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo — will headline Mix 107.7's 21st annual Summerfest at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 9. 

The Benatar and Giraldo 40th anniversary tour stop also will include a performance by Richard Marx.

Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. Saturday, April 20 at Fraze FanFare, 424 E Stroop Road in Kettering’s Town & Country Shopping Center and Etix.com.

Married since 1982, rock goddess Benatar and Giraldo — an arranger, guitarist, keyboardist and singer — hit it big  with  their first of many  collaborations, 1979’s platinum album “In The Heat of The Night.”

The album included the classic “Heartbreaker” and the Giraldo-penned hit, “We Live For Love.”

In all, Benatar has four Grammy awards and a string of hits that includes "Love Is a Battlefield," "We Belong,” “Invincible,” and “Shadows of the Night.”

Richard Marx will get intimate at City Winery on Oct. 24.

Between 1987 and 1990, Marx, also an accomplished songwriter, had a string of seven singles in Billboard’s Top Five, including “Don’t Mean Nothing,” “Endless Summer Nights,” “Right Here Waiting” and “Satisfied.” 

He won a Song of the Year Grammy in 2004 for Luther Vandross’ “Dance With My Father.” 

He’s also penned “Better Life” and “Everybody” for Keith UrbanNSYNC’s smash hit “This I Promise You” and Josh Groban’s “To Where You Are.”
