Your guide to weeks of fair fun all summer long

It’s officially fair season in Southwest Ohio.

Get your bellies ready for funnel cake, elephant ears, deep-fried cheesecake, concerts, demolition derbies, tractor pulls and lots of farm friends.

Here’s our guide to fair season throughout the region:


July 7-14, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily (midway opens at 1 p.m.) at Clinton County Fairgrounds, 958 W. Main St., Wilmington. 

Enjoy eight days of action featuring a variety of food, games, rides, 4H projects, Junior Fair/Youth event, harness racing, an antique tractor pull, a demolition derby and live entertainment.

Cost: Daily gate entry $10; Season Pass $30; Membership Tickets $35; 5 and under Free. Ride Armbands $5. No refunds; no rain dates; no exchanges on all tickets and passes. Lunch passes available for $10.

July 8-14, Gates open at 7:30 a.m. daily at Logan County Fairgrounds, 301 E. Lake Ave., Bellefontaine. 

Carnival rides and games, Harness Racing, Pony Racing, Bull Riding, Tractor Pull, Motorcycle Races and more.

Cost: General admission is $5 for ages 6 and up Monday through Thursday, and $7 on Friday & Saturday and Sunday. All children ages 5 and under are free. Season passes are $25 and on sale at the Fair Manager’s Office. Parking on the grounds is $2. There is a timed lunch ticket option with refundable admission tickets for a one-hour meal break when entering through the Lake Avenue Gate from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays only.

Recognition Days: Sunday - Veterans Day: All veterans showing proof of service admitted free; Wednesday - Seniors Day: Seniors will be given $3 special pricing. Admission price includes complimentary breakfast and lunch and other special activities. Thursday - Kids Day: Children will enjoy special ride pricing until 5 p.m.

July 9-15, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily at new Montgomery County Fairgrounds, 645 Infirmary Road, Dayton. 

Featuring all the fair favorites: Demolition Derby, 4H projects, junior fair, livestock, petting zoo, dog show, circus, flower show, games, rides, fair eats & treats, harness racing, rodeo, and free entertainment with paid admission, plus much more. Rides run from 1-5 p.m. and 6-10 p.m. daily and 1-4 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. on Family Day Sunday.

Cost: Daily admission $10/person, age 6 and under free with paying adult. Includes parking, if available, and Grandstand Event for that evening only. Monday, July 9 is Veteran’s Day & Senior Citizen’s Day - with half-price admission all day.

Food, games, 4H Livestock Shows/Horse Shows, live music and entertainment, Valley Exotics Zoo & Pony Rides and more. Plus a new event this year: Tug-a-Truck.

Cost: Daily admission $5 Monday, $8 Tuesday through Saturday, kids 8 and under are free. Season tickets are $25 each. Parking is free. Ride tickets: Single $1.50, 10 tickets for $15, 16 tickets for $20; Arm Bands - Monday $15, Tuesday $12,Wednesday-Saturday $18.

July 20-27, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Clark County Fairgrounds, 4401 S. Charleston Pike, Springfield

Fair includes livestock exhibits, entertainment including a kiddy pig chase, demolition derby and traveling tiger exhibit, musical entertainment including Chris Higbee and the Kate Hastings Band, midway, food vendors, exhibitors selling their wares and more.

Cost: Daily admission $6, including parking. Children 5 and younger are free. Additional charges will apply for rides and grandstand entertainment. Special promotions include Veterans Day on July 21 (free admission for veterans with a military ID), Golden Wedding Day on July 24 and Kids Day on July 25 (free admission 14 and under).

Food, games, 4H projects, tractor pulls, demolition derby and rodeo, arts, horse shows, rides, farm zone, etc.

Cost: General Admission per day is $8, Children 6-12 accompanied by paying adult (gate only) $3, Membership Ticket (7-Day admission and parking $35, 7-Day Pass - 7-Day Admission and Parking $30, 4-Day Pass - 4-Day Admission and Parking $20. Ride bands available for $15 (Sunday 4-10:45 p.m.), $18 (Monday to Wednesday, 1-:10:45 p.m.), $15 (Thursday 1-10:45 p.m.) and $18 (Friday and Saturday 1-10:45 p.m.) Grandstand events also carry an additional charge (varies by day)

July 22-28, Gates open at 8 a.m. daily (rides open at 1 p.m. most days, at 3 p.m. Sunday and 4 p.m. Monday); Fair closes at 10 p.m. Saturday at Shelby County Fairgrounds, 655 S. Highland Ave., Sidney. 

Domestic and livestock shows, 4-H exhibits, amusement rides, a demolition derby, tractor pull, local band performances, cheerleading competitions, harness racing, crafts, food and more.

Cost: General Admission $9, Season Passes $25, Parking on Fairgrounds (limited to livestock exhibitors and merchant exhibitors only) $30. Additional cost for ride bands. Ride specials include Industrial Days on Sunday and Wednesday with $7 wristbands, carload night on Monday with entry to fair and rides for everyone in vehicle for $30, Kids Day on Thursday with free admission for those under 16 until noon and $7 wristbands and Best One Tire/Sidney Tire Day on Friday with $7 wristbands available in advance at those locations.

July 28-Aug. 4, Gates open at 7 a.m. Daily at Preble County Fairgrounds, 722 S. Franklin St., Eaton. 

Food, games, rides, visual arts, livestock projects, Jr. Fair, parade, Mule & Donkey Show, live entertainment, cook-offs, and more.

Cost: General admission to grounds $6, Children 8 and under are free. Membership Ticket $25; Weekly Pass $25; Veterans and one guest admitted free on the first Saturday of the Fair. Free parking.

Food, games, rides, Calf Scramble, Demo Derby, Harness Racing, Truck & Tractor Pulls, live entertainment and more. Concert by LANCO. Note rides will not be open on Sunday. Monday to Thursday rides will open at 4 p.m. Please check the website to confirm details.

Cost: Daily admission $6 for ages 10 and older ($5 in advance); 9 and under get in free with a paying adult. On Military Discount Day on Monday, show your military ID and get in for $3; Senior Citizen Discount Day on Thursday ( seniors get in for $3). Cost: Day Passes $5, Children 8 and under are free. Season Pass $25, includes 7 daily admission tickets; Exhibitor Pass $20 for 7 daily passes; Golden Anniversary Pass - Free (Available at fair office for any couple who has been married for 50+ years. Husband and wife must both be present to receive pass. Jr. Fair Booster $45 for 7 daily passes; includes name in following year’s fair book and also on a sign at the fair. $15 ride bracelets daily for 4-H and Girl Scouts.
